Tucson, AZ (CNN) Air conditioning should be part of any new home, not a luxury item, said Michael Larson, president and CEO of the National Association of Home Builders, in a speech to the Arizona Home Builder Association’s annual conference here on Wednesday.
He said the industry is getting too much emphasis on the air conditioning aspect of home decor.
“Air conditioning is not the problem,” Larson said.
“The problem is when people buy new homes, they’re not thinking about the quality of the air in the house.
When you buy a new home and then you buy another home, you’re not putting in the right amount of air conditioning.
It’s not just that air conditioning is a luxury, it’s that people are not doing their homework.”
The Air Conditioning Industry Gets Too Much Attention article The cost of air conditioners has increased by over $100,000 since 2006, according to a new study from the National Institute for Standards and Technology.
The study, titled The Air Conditioner Revolution: How Technology Is Fueling the Global Housing Crisis, estimates that the cost of a single air conditioner has increased nearly 4,000% since 2006.
The cost per square foot has increased more than 400%, with air conditionering now accounting for more than half of new home construction, according the study.
Air conditioners account for more new homes than any other appliance, according a 2016 study by the National Renewable Energy Laboratory.
Larson said air conditioning should not be a luxury.
“When you go to a fancy hotel, you don’t pay for the air condition and you don´t get the spa treatments,” Larson explained.
“You pay for that air condition for your home.”
The average new home in the U.S. is expected to have three or four air conditionings.
In Arizona, the median home needs at least four air conditioning units.
Air conditioning in Arizona averages around 10 degrees Celsius, which is above the national average, the study says.
Most of the states average are in the Midwest, according The National Association for Home Build.
Air conditioning has become a trend, as demand for air conditioning has increased in recent years.
More than 30% of the nation’s new homes are built on a mix of land and land-based buildings, according NARHB.
About one-third of new homes in the nation are on existing or future construction sites.
The study also finds that the number of new housing units in the state has decreased by about 10% since 2005, while the number on new construction sites has increased about 5%.
