Greenwood is a Florida-based manufacturer of air conditioning equipment that sells to companies that use it in their buildings.
In February, the company reported that it had lost $1.3 billion in 2016 due to air pollution, the most recent year for which figures are available.
A spokesman said that the loss is mainly due to a decrease in demand for Greenwood products.
The company also reported a net loss of $4.1 million in 2017.
The loss includes $2.5 million in interest and penalties related to violations of the Clean Air Act and a $1 million settlement with the Environmental Protection Agency.
The Environmental Protection Department declined to comment on the company’s figures.
The EPA’s Office of Inspector General has been investigating Greenwood for more than two years.
Greenwood said that in 2016 it paid more than $1 billion in fines to the U.S. government and a variety of other regulators, but it has yet to disclose details about the settlements or the details of the penalties.
